Mahipal is back; the rest remain rumour

Patancheru MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy appears to have completed the journey from Congress defection to BRS return, while claims about other turncoat MLAs remain stuck at the “sources say” stage.
The Times of India reported on September 7 that Mahipal Reddy had officially returned to BRS, attended a BRS Legislature Party meeting and joined a protest against the Congress government. Earlier reports also documented him campaigning for BRS candidates in the 2026 municipal polls. The formal party paperwork has not been published, but the political direction is difficult to miss.
A September 16 report said BRS was consulting constituency leaders before accepting other defectors and named Gadwal MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy as possibly considering a return. No current statement from Krishna Mohan Reddy, Congress or BRS confirms that. Pocharam Srinivas Reddy’s quoted loyalty to KCR is likewise not a return request.
So far, one defector has visibly come back into the BRS fold. The rest are still waiting for their paperwork—or a better source.
