A report published on September 16 says Nalgonda police registered a case against former Nalgonda municipal chairperson Mandadi Saidireddy and BRS Nalgonda 30th Division in-charge Jahangir Baba over an alleged effigy-burning protest at Marriguda bypass on September 8. It gives the alleged FIR number as 200/2026 and lists six BNS sections, but the FIR and any police confirmation were not available for independent verification.
Separate reports support that BRS workers held protests in Nalgonda district on September 8 and 9 over alleged police action against BRS leaders and women MLAs. They do not independently confirm the FIR, the effigy-burning allegation or the individual roles attributed to the two men. The report attributes to Saidireddy the statement that cases would not stop the protests. It also says BRS leaders alleged that police filed cases against a peaceful protest.
