The biopic has been announced, but its title and timetable remain undisclosed.
Rashmika Mandanna will play Carnatic vocalist M.S. Subbulakshmi in a pan-India biopic, according to a September 15 announcement by the Telugu Film Producers Council. The project is being produced by Allu Aravind, Rockline Venkatesh and Bunny Vas, with Gowtam Tinnanuri directing and Anirudh Ravichander composing the music.
The announcement, made at The Music Academy in Chennai, says the film will go on floors “soon”. It supplies the usual “world-class making” promise but no shooting date, release date, official title, budget or confirmed supporting cast. The film’s scope and details of Rashmika’s musical performance have also not been disclosed. More information, the council says, will follow later — cinema’s preferred release schedule for information.
The council refers to the launch as marking Subbulakshmi’s 110th birth anniversary. Biographical records place her birth on September 16, 1916, while the council announcement is dated September 15, 2026. The exact timing of the event therefore remains unclear. The producers have announced a film; the calendar is still negotiating its role.
